ScopeTRITON Asymmetric Polycarbonate Canopy, 45m (L) x 23.7m – 8.2m (W)

With plans to provide a massive 630m2 of covered space on underused areas between their buildings, The Warriner School had been looking at a number of options including a series of monopitched canopies and tensile structures, but had concerns about potential lack of light transmission over such a large area and leaks where the roofs joined.

The Streetspace design team saw the potential to overcome all these issues with a single polycarbonate roofed Triton canopy throughout the 45m length. This is no mean feat for a single form design with a cover width variation from 8200mm to 23750mm in the centre section! The single form design is very effective and the large radius means the structure is not dominant alongside the existing single storey buildings.
