ScopeORION Cantilever Canopy

The Headteacher at Kent College could see that a canopy to cover the queuing space for the dining hall doorway was a unique opportunity to provide a feature to this otherwise uninspiring courtyard. This is just the kind of challenge our design team rises to, and various illustrated options were put forward including the college emblem laser cut into the framework bracing and coating to match the school colours.

During a meeting to present the initial design proposals, further suggestions were made by the client including varying the width of the fabric structure, and the finished result is one to be proud of. It not only is appealing from the ground, but its attractive shape is appreciated when looking down onto the courtyard from the first and second floors. By way of contrast, if the brief for this project had been to provide a covered walkway for the lowest possible price, it would have added very little value to the school’s facilities.
