9m (L) x 6.2m (W) Sedum & Wildflower Cycle Shelter

Completed in June 2016, the Raynes Park Playing Fields project for the prestigious All England Lawn Tennis Club involved the construction of six synthetic tennis courts with temporary changing facilities and a new car park. A simple curved canopy over the entrance to the courts had been proposed, but the club were keen to make this an iconic structure that would resonate with their values and complement the impressive landscape scheme.

Having already considering a sedum roof canopy, AELTC’s Design Manager was delighted with the Streetspace proposal for an intensive wildflower meadow specification Green Roof on this 55m2 structure. The canopy structural steelwork together with the aluminium fascia detail and rainwater goods are finished in PPC RAL 7024 graphite grey, with iroko hardwood cladding to the support columns and canopy underside detail.

Also included in the project scope there are two cycle shelters and an entrance security kiosk. These have been designed and manufactured to identical greenroof specification and finishing details as the entrance canopy.
