With outstanding new facilities constructed in 2013 on of the challenges facing Strood Academy when looking to increase outdoor covered dining space was how to complement the existing architecture. After a number of design options the Academy team settled on the clean lines of 2no. 8000mmx 16000mm ORION Shield tensile structures to create 280m² of clear span covered space. Both canopies are located over existing outdoor dining areas with the first installed in the central courtyard and the second on the building perimeter.

The tensile structures have one piece fully welded PVC membrane manufactured from Ferrari F702 fabric in white. Supporting steelwork powder coated RAL 5002 Ultramarine Blue 85% Gloss to match the Strood Academy colours creating a stunning contrast.
