Gumley House Convent School, Isleworth

To accommodate an increasing student role, Gumley House Convent School required larger dining facilities with their limited existing capacity resulting in students having to eat outside on the school grounds, causing issues with litter and a potential risk of vermin.

Having settled on an open type canopy project and selected Streetspace as a potential provider, an underused area near the existing dining hall was identified as the perfect location for this. With the school located in a conservation area, the canopy design had to be carefully considered and our project consultant recommended a TAURUS canopy, constructed from Glulam timber with a radius rafter roof design and multiwall polycarbonate cladding. These materials helped create a soft shape with a natural look to meet the planning conservation requirements with the Streetspace technical team handling the planning approval process on behalf of the school following order placement.

Alongside the canopy structure installation our skilled teams carried out the associated landscaping, which involved removal of trees and shrubs with installation of new paved area and planters.
